L&DB illuminates the inauguration of an insurer's new premises with Starway spotlights
The event took place outdoors, with the rig set the day before. The team required IP65 fixtures that would hold their focus through changing weather and allow a swift commissioning on the day. Quasar and Enzo WET were chosen for the façades, Alcor for the rooftop’s circulation and hospitality areas.
Façades — coverage and clarity
The four elevations were treated with Quasar to establish a broad, legible base. Just eight units were sufficient to cover the building evenly, with Enzo WET refining the architecture through cuts, density accents and perspective work where needed.
“We selected Quasar and Enzo WET because they are weatherproof. As the rig went in the day before, we needed IP65 gear that wouldn’t compromise our settings. Quasar’s wide coverage helps achieve a homogeneous result without multiplying fixtures,” explains Romain Plantier, President of L&DB.
Rooftop — autonomous elegance with Alcor
On the roof terrace, Alcor served as a discreet yet inviting decorative layer, supplemented with top globes and tubes to structure paths and gathering points. With limited power available, battery operation simplified logistics and eliminated additional cabling.
“We didn’t have much power on the rooftop. Alcor running on battery made the décor easy to deploy, with no extra wiring,” adds Romain Plantier.
Method and outcome
Addressing and colour presets were prepared in advance to minimise on-site setup. The division of roles—Quasar for base coverage, Enzo WET for architectural rhythm—delivered a festive, precise and highly readable result with a contained fixture count. The approach transfers well to corporate sites, from head offices to mixed-use campuses.
Starway thanks L&DB for their trust and acknowledges the quality of execution across the venue.
